From the "master of action" (Publishers Weekly) and USA Today bestselling author of Robert Ludlum's Treadstone series comes a new thriller as intense and fast-paced as The Bourne Identity.
As a member of the elite Air Force Pararescue, Travis Lane abides by the motto “These things we do, that others may live.” After an injury forces him to consider retirement, he is blindsided when his brother-in-law is killed in the line of duty, leaving Lane as the sole support for his sister and the family farm they can no longer afford.
Desperate for something to help them keep the farm, Lane accepts an offer to join Broadside Solutions, a private company with specially trained military operatives who provide protection for clients all over the world. But it’s trial by fire when his first mission takes him to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to find and retrieve a kidnapped American in the middle of a densely forested jungle.
The final days of the American presence in Afghanistan bring Adam Hayes a summons he can't ignore in the latest electrifying thriller from the world of Robert Ludlum.
Adam Hayes has stepped away from the field for the last time. He's promised his wife that he won't put his life on the line any more, and there's nothing that will make him break a promise to his wife.
Well...almost nothing. With America withdrawing from Afghanistan and the Taliban closing in, Abdul Nassir reached out to his old friend. Ten years ago, he saved the American's life, and the time has come for repayment. The Afghan is desperate to flee his homeland. Like most of his countrymen, he is petrified by the Taliban takeover, but he also can't trust the Americans. He’s the only eyewitness to a massacre committed by a rogue team of CIA contractors. Not only can he identify the butcher who directed the bloodbath, he also has photographic proof. He’ll only be safe when those pictures are made public.
Now, there’s just one man he can trust to get him to safety--Adam Hayes.
Joshua Hood's thriller books: All killer. No filler. The best fiction books are inspired by authentic military experience! #SharpKnives #LoudGuns!
"Hood’s solid third contribution to this spin-off series from the late Ludlum’s legendary Jason Bourne franchise (after 2021’s Robert Ludlum’s The Treadstone Exile) opens in Haiti, where gutsy DIA agent Dallys Carver is on a mission to acquire an encrypted flash drive from a disgruntled bank manager proving that the director of the Haitian intelligence service is working with a foreign conglomerate to skirt international sanctions. Things rapidly disintegrate, and Carver and the bank manager have to go to ground. Meanwhile, back on an isolated New Mexico ranch, Adam Hayes, an operative for the secret agency Treadstone, and his wife, Annabelle, are looking forward to their four-year-old son Jack’s upcoming birthday. Then a helicopter arrives with the Treadstone director, who wants Adam to go to Haiti and pick up the flash drive. Adam accepts the assignment, but Annabelle warns him that he can’t miss Jack’s birthday party. Adam’s got 48 hours, and the clock is ticking. This entry depends less on Ludlum’s influence than on Hood’s sure hand with plotting and action. Fans of hard-charging thrillers will get their money’s worth." ~ Publisher's Weekly
"The best entry yet in this series, and if you want assassins and spies trying to kill each other around the world, without any filler, forced personal drama, politics, and romance, then this is the right series. This time, Treadstone recruits Hayes to extract a DIA officer from Haiti who is in possession of a flash drive containing details of a bank's sketchy financial dealings and international corruption. Other actors, including a rival CIA official, become interested in the flash drive as well and deploy armed gangs and kill teams to retrieve it. Like in the previous books, we follow Hayes's mission every step of the way, and Joshua Hood writes with clear, cinematic prose some of the most intense and brutal action scenes you will read in the genre. He also excels at developing the setting and bringing Haiti to life. If you're a fan of the Bourne movies or the Gray Man novels, you will not be disappointed." -- Ross Sidor, Author of the Covert Action thrillers
"Author Joshua Hood delivers ‘again’ in the third installment of Robert Ludlum’s, “The Treadstone Transgression.” Hood is three for three in these Treadstone books. This doesn't happen very often in this genre, but it did with this third high energy, particularly intense action thriller. The entire series has been well written and thoughtfully plotted out. I am now having trouble finding words for this the third and probably the best of the three books in the series. The Treadstone Transgression once again keeps the reader enthralled, energized, and invigorated while following the latest adventures of protagonist Adam Hayes. Hood has developed him into a most notable central character. I love the storyline of Hayes trying to successfully complete an assignment in time to get back home to celebrate his son’s birthday after many years of missing them. This is unheard of especially for people in Hayes’ field of work. It really added to some individuality to Hayes’ character and helped me as a reader to see into his heart. The whole ‘family’ piece was a great add by Hood. As expected in most of Hood’s writings, the action scenes are very illustrative, copious, and intense. This book represents the action thriller gene! Adam Hayes is a ‘badass’ and Hood’s depiction of him makes readers appreciate him as one. His ‘witty’ dialogue is awesome too. Readers can’t help but to like him. The Treadstone Transgression featuring main character Adam Hayes, doesn’t disappoint and is on track to being a successful long-standing series like Ludlum’s Jason Bourne, Mark Greaney’s Gray Man, Brad Thor’s Scot Harvath, and Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp. Joshua Hood has found his niche with this series, and I will continue to read this exciting series." -- Steven Hendricks, Hendricks Book Reviews

"Few thriller fans will be able to resist as the author hauls them by their necks down many rough roads while Hayes mows down the opposition. Hood is a master of action." -- Publisher's Weekly
"Hood continues to bring in-your-face action, non-stop drama, and twists. After wading through the blood and brass, Adam Hayes shows why Treadstone fears him!" -- Chris Miller, Best Thriller Books
"This gruesome, twisted, and turbo-charged book is a perfect read for fans of weaponized, hardcore, brutally gritty action thrillers. Joshua Hood knows exactly what fans of this genre want and delivers in spades. Sure, this isn’t a book for classic Ludlum fans, but it’s set in the same universe and is just as messed up. Adam Hayes, the hero, or more likely the antihero of Hood’s Treadstone series, is a damaged, recovering assassin, who’s more fun than Bourne in a darkly devious way. While he may not be as smart as the popular amnesiac assassin, he’s probably way more dangerous in his gun-toting badass fashion." -- Kronos Ananthsimha
"This is an enjoyable outing in a new series set in a world where almost everything is for sale and trust is an early casualty in the fight for survival." -- Adam Colclough, ShotsMag.co/uk
"Joshua Hood's introduction to the Bourne series is an enjoyable romp filled with all the hallmarks of a great thriller with enough character in its fresh protagonist to keep the story from becoming stale. Pick it up if you need more Bourne in your life and enjoyed The Bourne Legacy. So, this being a spin-off and all, Jason Bourne is out and Adam Hayes is the king of the hill. This is always going to draw comparisons to Bourne, which I feel is a little undeserved considering how much of an admirable job Joshua Hood did to differentiate Hayes from Bourne. Hayes is a lot more focused on the wider world and his impact on it than the narrow self-focused outlook that I feel more encapsulated Bourne. He’s more interested in helping others and separating himself from his past instead of chasing it for answers. This is likely from Hayes having a family he cares about instead of lone wolfing it like Bourne. However, having read quite a few books in the series, I like to think I know my Jason Bournes, and Adam Hayes is pretty much Jason Bourne 1.5. The fact Hood doesn’t give Hayes amnesia was a breath of fresh air for the series and the interplay between himself and his inner ‘Treadstone’ voice helped to develop his character." -- Rohan Elliott
"I enjoy Adam as a main character, and his inner monologue makes me smile a lot of the time as it's so sarcastic. And while on the outside he presents as this tough assassin who is almost frightening in his invincibility, the inner monologue makes him human and empathetic, something I really appreciated. He goes from killer machine to psychologically distressed throughout the book, but only the reader has full insight into this distress. I also like how he doesn't just jump into the role of a killing machine, but tries really hard to avoid killing people if possible; it is rather refreshing to read a book that is not just multiple shoot-em-up scenes, although there were plenty of those too, just not necessarily caused by Adam." -- CurlingUpByTheFire blog - Stephanie
"The Treadstone Exile exposes the impact of corporate greed and white-collar crime amongst the most vulnerable communities on the planet. It is fast-moving and relentlessly violent. Hayes is flawed but well-meaning. I rooted for him from the very beginning as he kicked, punched and occasionally shot his way through the novel. The book is well written and well researched by the author who is a military veteran and brings his experience to the text. Hood’s prose is succinct, fluent and seasoned with some welcome wry humour. A great read and highly recommended." -- Promotiong Crime Fiction blog - Dot Marshall-Gent
“An intense and electrifying espionage adventure…a worth addition to the Ludlum bookshelf.” --Mark Greaney, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Mission Critical
“Joshua Hood crushes it, proving himself a worthy inheritor of the legacy.” -- Jack Carr, Former Navy SEAL Sniper and Author of True Believer
“The perfect high-octane thriller." —Simon Gervais #1 International bestselling author of Hunt Them Down
"Sharp, fast-paced, and filled to the brim with hard-hitting action. Ludlum's fans are going to flip for Adam Hayes--who proves that, unlike Bourne, sometimes it's worse to carry memories you can't forget." --The Real Book Spy
About The Treadstone Resurrection
The first novel in an explosive new thriller series inspired by Robert Ludlum's Bourne universe, The Treadstone Resurrection introduces an unforgettable hero and the shadowy world that forged him...
Treadstone made Jason Bourne an unstoppable force, but he's not the only one.
Operation Treadstone has nearly ruined Adam Hayes. The top-secret CIA Black Ops program trained him to be an all but invincible assassin, but it also cost him his family and any chance at a normal life. Which is why he was determined to get out.
Working as a carpenter in rural Washington state, Adam thinks he has left Treadstone in the past, until he receives a mysterious email from a former colleague, and soon after is attacked by an unknown hit team at his job site. Adam must regain the skills that Treadstone taught him--lightning reflexes and a cold conscience--in order to discover who the would-be killers are and why they have come after him now.
Are his pursuers enemies from a long-ago mission? Rival intelligence agents? Or, perhaps, forces inside Treadstone? His search will unearth secrets in the highest levels of government and pull him back into the shadowy world he worked so hard to forget.
